Erm, no. 1982.
Maybe Harvey meant the date of the book, which was indeed 1968. No uploads
though. Closer, in Dick, is UBIK (1969), where many fatally wounded people
are in cryonic half-life, mutually creating a shared delusional world--a
trope used even earlier in Dick's rather stunning EYE IN THE SKY (1957).
