Nicq's post gets my vote for post of the month. (if indeed there is a post of the month, or other such thing.)
Pascal's Wager is a false choice. But the reason such arguments are sometimes useful is that they illustrate the divergence of choices. It's like making an argument for worst-case scenarios. While it may not be entirely accurate, they can be used to illustrate deeper principles.
(please do not construe this as support for pascal's wager, or to the effect that I advocate non logical means. I am simply impressed by Nicq's successful use of a sometimes broken argumentative model.)
