Or the other way - I quite enjoy a lot of the fluff, it's the
debates/arguments that end up two or three people repeating a few
points over and over again and continuing to misunderstand each other,
and the technical stuff that goes way over my head that I can't keep
up with. It's the fluff and chatter where I feel like I'm actually
getting to know all of you, and I'm still convinced (idealist that I
am) that the internet can be a powerful tool to bring people together.

Either way, Slashdot-esque moderation does seem like a good idea.
