I've always wanted to be a labeller. I picture it sort of like a
spaghetti western. I'd ride into a lonely, dusty small town. Long past
its heyday, the townspeople go about their daily routine on pure
inertia, without any real interest or meaning in their lives. I take out
my labelmaker and start labelling things, mostly inanimate objects but
also the occassional person or pet. The townspeople are confused
initially, but continued exposure and reflection lets them see their
lives in new ways. The change starts slowly at first, perhaps some guy
decides to repaint some park benches. After a while the town is a bustle
of activity as people come together and make a better, richer life for
themselves as they beautify the town. "Who was he?" they say as I ride
into the sunset, never having spoken a word to anybody.
