Seriously, to those theists and even deists (not many in the USA
these
days) who think it's silly for non-believers to object to the
relatively
recently added "under God", I would ask: Would you have had any
problem if
the pledge said "one nation under no god" ? Somehow, I think they
would.

That point was demonstrated beautifully in England about 10 years ago. The Post Office was selling sponsored post-marking. For several months millions of letters were franked with "Jesus Lives" as they went through the sorting machines. Some individual or group attempted to purchase anumber of
"Jesus is Dead" or "Jesus Died" franks, and were refused because the PO didnt want to do anything 'controversial'.
