To Samantha and anyone else that may be interested:

In the short term, hybrid gasoline-electric cars already are available now
in the
United States from several automobile makers. The gasoline is used to start
and
stop the car and for acceleration up to 40-50 miles per hour. The rest of
the
time the car uses electricity generated by the movement of the car.

Within 10-15 years, the automobile makers plan to introduce fuel cell
technology.
This technology used liquid Hydrogen inside a cell that migrates across the
cell
causing a proton gradients across the cell and electron transport (i.e.
electricity)
around the cell. It works very much like the mitochondria in every cell of
the
humans' (and other animals') bodies

Shortly after 9-11-01, a great deal of US Federal research money was
contributed to the above causes. We educated US Americans realize that we
get 70% of our oil from Saudi Arabia and that 17 of the 19 hijackers had
Saudi
Arabian passports. We are trying to literally fuel our economy in a way
that
does not finance terrorism against US. Though the motives are not
ecological,
the results will improve any alleged "global warming' that may be
occurring. - Bill.
