Maybe you all missed it, but "MOLECULAR NANOTECHNOLOGY?" was a
front-page headline on one of the newspapers a man was reading in the
movie.

It seems as if they wanted to incorporate the concept somehow, but
couldn't have the vision to implement it in anything other than a news
story. Then again, we might have been seeing nanotech in action without
recognizing it: the designer drugs, the moving ink, the "sick sticks",
and the brain/computer interfaces...

As far as AI is concerned, I was pretty impressed with the "spiders".
They seemed to be totally autonomous / independent, able to reason and
communicate with each other, and have very high-level awareness of their
environment.

The least credible part of the movie for me was that they did not turn
off John's access to the temple after they started chasing him. =P
