Stanford University's graduate department filmmakers Elizabeth Witham and
Elisabeth James
should be getting a larger viewing audience for their recent film
"Precipice".
I just received their message:
"Natasha ... Just wanted to let you know that Professor Hurlbut, your male
counterpart in "Precipice" has been showing the film at conferences, and
plans to send it to the board of the president's council on bioethics."
This is good because their film is a balanced approach to the pro and cons
of biotechnology and leaves one feeling that there is a need for *careful*
steps, but that superlongevity seems like a rational choice and a probable
future.
