Ogden Nash's "The Ant":

The ant has made himself illustrious
Through constant industry industrious.
So what?
Would you be calm and placid
If you were full of formic acid?

which led Damien to the reflection:

The ant is anti-gravitational
Through Russian science most sensational
So what?
Would you stay fixed to Mother Earth
If your nest fumed with formic girth?

to which E_Shaun adds..............

The ant is, to nanotechnology
A symbol of ideal biology
So what?
Despite all evolutionary advance,
What would we care would we were ants?

and Amara pens.......

The ant propelled by wigged concealed secrets
four times of the solar wind speed he flits
So what?
Would you keep your feet on the ground
if cranks lent wings to your formic mound?

to which I add.....

Such ants as would our physics chide
Demand that ants super-collide
So what?
Well are they top, up, down, becalmed
or formically strangely charmed?

Colin Hales
I'd love to see the ant super collider to sort out
that lot! Legs everywhere! I think we're in a weird area here.... :-)
What's with all the poetry lately? It's that Yoda virus, it is.
