This betrays a singular lack of understanding of how

What on earth (or off it) for? This is pure male ego speaking.
  There is utterly no need to colonize every star in the galaxy.
  We haven't even begun to master ourselves or even get off of
this little planet for chrissake. I think we need to grow up -
a lot - before we think seriously about colonizing every star in
the galaxy.
