Bristol Meyers Squibb's patent is not on the drug Taxol itself, but on
the process for manufacturing it that is decidedly different from the
natural process for producing it, i.e. in the bark of the Pacific Yew.
If you can come up with a process that is different from that of BMS's
patent claims, then you are aok. BMS's claims are entirely rational and
proper under the aegis of intellectual property law.
