Thanks for trying to clarify, Emlyn. I know this has gotten to be a bit
tiresome and convoluted, but Techno was never the one who was wrong - Techno
was only carrying the "wrong" ball served by Max. The dialogue:

Max wrote:> >>> I can see that continuing this would be fruitless. Olga,
you seem to dislike Rand because she wasn't suffering from poverty and
wasn't focused on those worst off. Her lack of concern may be a shortcoming,
but not good reason to reject her ideas as a whole.

[Before my email arrived to Max and the list correcting the impression that
I wrote about poverty in explaining my dislike for Ayn, Techno wrote:]

Techno:> >> This is a good point.

[Olga note: See my problem? Now I've got two people agreeing on a point I
never made ... so I said:]

Olga: > > No, Techno, this was a very, very bad point - and totally
erroneous.

disagree with

If Techno got the impression that I was criticizing him, then I would like
to assure him I was not. I don't expect everyone on this list reads every
email, certainly not thoroughly. I was trying to explain to Techno that the
point was "bad"
because it was wrong to begin with - not that Techno was saying anything
wrong. I'm sorry if my intention wasn't clear. In any case, no one could
point out anything I said about poverty, because I never said anything about
poverty.

Maybe you've had to defend yourself against something you never said. It
seems like if you don't - whoever said the wrong thing ... wins by default.
(Yes, I do realize this is completely unimportant in the cosmic scheme of
things!)

Again, thanks for your concern and for your efforts to mediate, Emlyn.

Olga
