Lee, this is not meant to disregard your pain, but it may help to remember
what Socrates said: I am not an Athenian or a Greek, but a citizen of the
world.

It may be the most comfortable situation for most people - but being a
nation or a people has its limitations.

Having grown up in several countries as a child I've had the opposite
problem - I didn't seem to be able to identify with any particular nation or
group of people. But as time went on, I realized this was not really a
problem, but a kind of asset.
