Yo, Gina! Take a deep breath girl. You mustn't let a
lot of silly blabbering get you down. Everyone knows
that women are superior to men. I treasure hugely "my
feminine side". (Really, I mean it. Big time.)
Understandably, some men have difficulty dealing with
this, and instead of recognizing the capabilities that
they do have--the glass half full view of life--spend
their energies throwing a tantrum and blaming
women--and everyone else--to distract themselves from
their sense of personal inadequacy. ;-) (This is a
superior, knowing wink, not an 'I'm just joking'
wink.)
It is the hallmark of a--dare I use a rather blunt
label?--'loser'--at the very least, in the emotional
sense--to constantly whine and complain. You needn't
get caught up in their unhappy rut. If I were being
more compassionate, I might observe that they are
unhappy people who just don't have enough love in
their lives, and that really is a sad thing.
Self love is a good place to start to overcome that
state of affairs. Also getting a nice happy dog
(golden retrievers are possessed by an out-of-control
celebration of life) is a virtual sure cure. Dancing
lessons are good. Playing more music, and singing
along. Etc. (Sure there are things like clinical
depression, Alzheiemer's, quadraplegia, and the tragic
deaths of loved ones--that dog (and the next one and
the next one)--will almost certainly die before you
do)(unless cryonically suspended!), but, darn it!, the
universe is still way terrific.)

Freedom of speech has a price. But, it's worth it.
More even. The price is that people who should be
listening, instead, blather loudly and way too much.
And stuff you don't agree with stands on an equal
footing with what you see as right and true.
I had trouble with being unable to control my feelings
of frustration and anger in response to certain
posters. For the longest time, I felt it my duty to
listen to all points of view, to take responsibility
for my feelings--it was ME responding to them, not
THEM MAKING ME feel bad--but you know what? I
couldn't do it. Or I couldn't do it easily, or
quickly enough, or with what I finally concluded was
an acceptable price in time and annoyance suffered.
So I took another tack. Compromised on something less
that total mastery of my emotions, and employed
technology to assist me with my problem. I filtered
the buggers out. Life on the list has been wonderful
ever since. Honest controversy, and a fellowship of
optimistic enthusiasm as we plunge forward on our/the
great adventure.
Good stuff. Like the Nanogirl news.
You're terrific.
Best, Jeff Davis
