Thanks for all the fun and kind responses! It is nice to be in here in
the warmth of the inner solar system among friends again.
Harvey's quick summary got me thinking: it is very useful to have this
kind of summaries of what is going on on a list when one arrives
in order to get a sense of context and where to start. Just looking at
thread names gives some ideas, but it is not foolproof and might miss
which thread is really containing good stuff. Ideally there would be
somebody writing up brief summaries of the last week on the extropy
channel, but that is of course nothing one can count on. So, what about
automatic text summarizers? I have heard that they are getting better,
but would they work on summarizing a mailing list?
