Don't you think it's much more likely, since there was nothing about
GMOs or anything like that, that this has nothing to do with luddite
crop saboteurs?

Not at all. As someone else pointed out, it looks like someone who
believes that there is no death or that death is an illusion and who is
also antigovernment. Also, the letter is silent on the issues you
mention. Granted, this is no manifesto, but don't you think it strange
that if you view is correct the person writer(s) of the note would keep
he/she/their cherished views, the stuff he's/she's/they're literally
willing to blow up people over out of it?
It seems to wishful thinking on your part...
