Jeez, Lorry, "How to surf a hoverdisk and still look
like 99 lbs of pure sex" ??

Are you by any chance actually a fem, yourself?
Reason I ask: until now, the ONLY people I've dealt
with who see DA (I'll use DA instead of "Max," just to
avoid confusing anyone with another famous "Max.") as
a sex goddess have been other women, who are
invariably catty in the extreme, as in, "Oh yeah, the
girl with the LIPs," accompanied with a smirk and a
knowing nod.

I actually have never had a single erotic fantasy
about DA. "Original Cindy," on the other hand (so to
speak)....

I would probably find DA very annoying if I met her in
real life. On the other hand, it's been MANY a year
since I've felt the slightest inclination to salute
any flag. (Those who have seen the episode will know
to what I refer.) Talk about INTENSE!

And here you go trivializing it and justifying all
those catty fems who can't see other women as anything
but sex symbols - and hold this incredible delusion
that men must be the same. Sheesh.

BTW, for those unfortunates who have not yet seen the
episode to which we refer, and who plan to be seeing
it soon, here are some further notes to assist you.
For those who plan to play catch up over the summer
season, you can skip this.

Joshua, sometimes referred to by OC ("Original Cindy")
as "dog-boy," was kind of a trustee at Manticore, one
of the early failed experiments, not quite a "nomoly"
(what the x-kids called the anomolous outcomes in
genetic engineering). He has a lot of dog DNA and he
idolizes "father," who is the mysterious Sandemann,
the renegade genetic engineer from the ancient
nazi-like breeding cult who masterminded Manticore and
then mysteriously disappeared. Joshua, in fact,
managed to track "father" to his former,
long-abondoned house in the Seattle, which is where he
now lives with DA's help.

In one episode, Joshua falls in love with a
neighborhood blind woman, whose seeing-eye dog leads
her to his door. Alec, another X-5, who gets shot in
the arm in this episode, convinces Joshua that the
relationship can't possibly work, and he goes into a
deep funk, painting endless pictures of Annie, until
one day he can't handle it anymore and tracks her
down, unfortunately being discovered by the local
street punks in the process, leading to a wild chase
by the PD thru the sewers, with White - the
above-ground point man enforcer for the breeding cult
- coordinating his own chase, which leads to him
finding Annie, who has convinced Joshua to leave her
in the sewers to the supposed safe rescue of the
oncoming cops. White and the street punks have
meanwhile convinced the media that Joshua has
kidnapped Annie for some dreadful purpose. Joshua,
Alec, and DA make it back to Father's house just in
time to catch the news as Annie's body is being
removed from the sewer, tortured to death courtesy you
know who. But of course Joshua, who is now beside
himself with grief and guilt, is blamed for murdering
the woman he loved. This explains some of his
behaviour in the episode under discussion.

The guy with the prothetically enhanced legs is Logan,
aka "eyes only." The way he got those legs is an
entire episode in itself, one of the high-humor ones.
Suffice it to say, as you wouldn't get enough from my
retelling it to be worthwhile, as opposed to the real
pleasure of viewing that particular episode, these are
one of the DARPA projects that got misfiled during the
chaos after the EMP strike. Logan is DA's unrequited
love, and vice versa, fortunately. Unfortunately, as
I mentioned before, Logan was targetted by Manticore
with a deadly virus keyed to his DNA. DA is the sole
carrier.

The guy who runs JamPony - "Normal" - is like a latter
day right-wing, pro-cop, Christian conservative,
no-nonsense businessman. He has bought into the
scare-mongering by the Manticore, and now the breeding
cult's, media priming about evil, dangerous
transgenics, while DA, Alec and a couple other X-5's
work for him, unsuspected. Sports fan Normal thinks
that Alec is the greatest, as he has won money on him
in prize fights, where Alec waltzes all over guys
twice his size, mainly because he is about three times
as fast.

The JamPony guy with the longish blond hair, who tries
to interview DA at an inappropriate time, also used to
be a transgenic hater. He got a side job working for
one of the tabloids pitching the evil transgenic line,
and actually managed to catch a couple of transgenics
on film (which DA and OC cleverly destroyed),
witnessing one of them who had been prepped by White
being killed by the cops. He is now, however, in the
know.

Anyway, that should resolve a few puzzles for those
who are DA virgins.
