Even there I'd want to know how this works and how the human system differs
from the target primate.
Our brains evolved substantially from even nonhuman apes. I'd also want to
see lifetime studies - e.g.
do subjects tend to forget too easily, become too chimerical, or develop some
other mental limitation?
This is basically fiddling with an evolutionarily tunable dial - there will
be a reason for the current
human setting.
In terms of limitations, I'm confident enough in natural human care for
children and natural human caution
that I think virtually nobody would take boneheaded risks on this. A few will
take risks, but not enough
to make a difference to society or me. I would apply suasion to convince
people to follow a policy no
riskier than mine.
