The long historical record, and current statements, indicates that
both the Palestinians and the surrounding Arab states favor the
total destruction of Israel.

What is happening right now is a war to kill/capture those
responsible for terrorist attacks against Israel. When it is
complete the Israelis have already indicated they are ready to
negotiate.
Now here is one for you to answer.
In Sept of 2000 Ehud Barak took a very bold step and proposed a
deal that would have given the Palestinians 97% of everything they
had ever said they wanted. Yet Arafat refused to sign, and instead
re-started the intifada (initiated violence).
Why?
