This is the title of an article in the May issue of WIRED.
According to the article there are two new books coming out of
interest to the list Francis Fukuyama's "Our Posthuman Future" and
Gregory Stocks "Redesigning Humans". Fukuyamas's is apparently
dystopic.
An interesting article with discussion of such ideas as artificial
chromosomes, they would be created with on/off genetic switches to
activate/deactivate enginneered genes.
Extropian music fans will also apreciate that this is a music
issue, featured article and cover on Moby.
