For those who have no military experience, look at it from the grunt
Israeli soldiers perspective (rather than automatically bleeding your
heart all over the poor downtrodden Palestinians). For an American,
think of Vietnam. Imagine you find an American reporter is traveling
with a Viet Cong regiment you come into combat against. First off, you
and your buddies are gonna be pissed in an "Ain't Fonda Jane" kinda way,
and secondly, if the Viet Cong guys decide the American reporter is
really a spy for the US forces and shoot him, then can still claim the
reporter was shot by American troops, and no amount of denial by the US
military will be believed by the left wingers back home in the US.
