Church of Extropy April Fool's message

Before I leave for a trip for a day or two, I want to be sure that
yesterday's April Fool's gag is clear to all.

The Church of Extropy post that appeared apparently from me on April 1 was
a fake. It also was *not* from me, but from Lee Daniel Crocker. If you
examine the headers you can see the "piclab" domain that LDC uses. LDC said
he would fess up today, but I want to be sure that any confusion is
dispersed before I leave.

A good gag, I thought, so I kept quiet for April 1.

I was a bit disturbed by the number of people thinking this was a *good
idea*! To those folks -- please read the Extropian Principles to see why
extropian ideas are utterly unsuited to a religion.

I highly approve of April Fool's as a cultural institution. It shows why
critical thinking is important. And it shows that you have to be a wee bit
cautious in assuming that an email is from who it appears to be from.

Onward!

Max
