I've decided when the Singularity will occur.

Hi Folks...

In a fit of collossal humility I've decided that the singularity shall be
21st Dec 2012- Mayan Calendar end. This is a Friday, so I've declared it at
4pm, Mayan standard time, so we can clock off early for the party (it's
supposed to be at sunrise, but what's a few hours between friends). I'm also
assuming that Mayans had their time zones all sorted out properly. As usual
we Australians will be partying on ahead of TROTW.

I'm not sure whether the AIs will be fully ambulatory by then, so we'll have
to make special arrangements for them. I wonder if they'll qualify for
disabled parking spaces? Ever seen a wheelchair with an IQ of 500 do the
Tango? *thinks... tap tap, pc alert meter off scale stop now, sorry*

It looks like the Mayan calendar is perfect for the singularity. It's the
end of their calendar .ie. it literally stops dead. I think you go back to
the start and re-cycle the dates after that. It's a real hoot: eg
www.crawford2000.co.uk/maya.htm. It's got a galactic ecliptic transition,
the equinox precession and misc. mystical "end of the universe stuff" all
over it like *spooky dissonant violas in backgound* "The present world age
will end and a new world age will begin". Absolutely perfect.

My brother suggested it because he's into the Mayan crystal skulls mystery.
Ever so nice of the Mayans to make it a Friday. Anyway....time to start
organising the party. Also...if one was an author, it would be very
convenient to get your singularity books out ASAP, especially with the
singularity and post humanism now sequestered and publicised by Kurzweil.
It'll give plenty of time for re-prints and the pundit circuit.

Lining the whole thing up with the Mayans is a wonderful cult-forming
opportunity.
I hereby immediately claim all merchandising rights world wide in
perpetuity. It lines up with Christmas perfectly. Not that we'll be needing
money, or Christmas presents, or anything much really..., but, just in
case...

Knowing you guys, you've probably been there already, but I just got all
enthusiastic and thought to blurt. You know me, I just gotta blurt
sometimes.

So there you go. No need to debate any more. 4pm Fri 21st Dec 2012. Make it
happen. You know you want to. It's how these things are supposed to work.
How did those Mayans know??????

:-)

Colin
