I'm always interested in how others see extropians and transhumanists
especially in literature.

Neal Stephenson does a rather flattering portrait of the Extropians in
"Cryptonomicon" and even has an imagined flamefest on this list as a plot
device. I've also just finished Eugene Byrnes hilarious "Thigmoo", where the
world is taken over by "Extropian Marxist" AIs whose ideology could be quite
attractive to a certain set of European Transhumanism including yours truly.
I recall Gregs Bear and Egan namechecking the Extropians as well. Has
anyone got any other pointers to transhumanists portrayed in modern
literature.
