John, thanks for your efforts in bringing people together :-) But there are in fact now much more
women on the PosthumanLounge mailinglist than there were in the beginning. The list continues
to have new subscribers (men and women), nobody unsubscribes and the list has 68 members
now. But the reason it didn't took off so far, IMHO, there is almost no conversation going on :-(
It's like in a real lounge: The people who know each other already from another forum
immediately chat, but the new people (and this is where the most women are) feel maybe they
should stand in the dark and listen for a while.
In my welcome message to the PosthumanLounge I say that it's important in order to meet
someone on a mailinglist you need to post at least a join post, telling about your likes and
dislikes, what you're looking for in a person you'd like to meet etc. Since PosthumanLounge is
not a list with strictly enforced rules, nobody is of course required to post a join message.
The PosthumanLounge mailinglist is not another discussion list, but it is here for conversations.
Your post, John, has made it clear to me that I need to try to involve the women on
PosthumanLounge in a conversation. Thanks.
