Yeah, that's it, let's all use *different* gender-neutral pronouns! After
all, a Yudkowskian seed AI is probably very different from a Garisian AI,
much more different than a human male and female. Shouldn't the two have
different pronouns?
I wonder whether there's ever been an SF story that used two different
classes of gender-neutral pronoun to refer to two cognitively different
classes of AI. That might even be Something That Hasn't Been Done In
Science Fiction. Of course, it requires an author who can extrapolate two
interestingly different classes of AI and give them personalities at least
as visibly different as male and female humans.
