A successful new drug treatment for obesity was described on TV news last
night in Australia. Thus far it requires intravenous injection; oral
preparations are not expected on the market for another four years. News
reports spoke of middle-aged Ss. losing half a kilo a week with no change
in diet or exercise; the stuff speeds up metabolism, and has no known
harmful side effects. I wonder, though, if this accelerated
metabolism--which was described as a reversion to young adult levels--might
not be a no-no, due to malign oxidation effects, etc.
A quick google shows zip so far; the Aussie newspaper don't have it either.
