Um, annealing is not possible. Tissue glass doesn't anneal. The only way
to prevent cracks is to store at -130 C or slightly below. Cracks are
irrelevant, anyway. They're few and macroscopic, and do not erase
information as the surfaces are complementary. The real issue lies at
ultrastructural scale. Not getting mush there is important.
