We don't know what the constraints are, but it looks like a lot less than
geological time. You should see dimming on decade scale, and it will
accelerate from that. Exponential kinetics.

Right, and since there are non-FIR stars we're not in advanced aliens'
lightcone. In fact because you're reading this message there are no
aliens (=us in their lightcone).
