Look at the articles author. Rifkin has been king of the luddites since
the 70's, when he was a big left wing activist with Gerry Mander and the
rest of the Merry Pranksters. He then used an inheritance to start up
his own luddite group in DC to fight against biotechnology and genetic
engineering.
