With all due respect to Leary, who was one of the first people to kindly
mention my name in print (in "Design for Dying", under a discussion of
uploading), this counts either as suicide or death from sheer massive
stupidity. As irretrievable deaths go, this is as close to being the
victim's own fault as any human death ever was. Nobody else - whether or
not they were part of the causal chain - shares responsibility for Leary's
final death; it was his decision.
