Actually I wouldn't eat so many helpings of the Intel hype. This looks to
me like they are simply moving to catch up to the others in the industry
who have already embraced SOI and low-k dialectric substrates. Although
these new techniques will be even better than what is out there today, they
also won't even be in production until at least 2005, so in many ways
Intel will be lagging until then. At any rate I wouldn't really call this
something brand new, it is just a refinement of somethings already out
there. I thought their new BBUL packaging technique was more original.
