Arsenic is a strange element, it can be used as a cancer treatment but it can also cause
cancer. Researchers at Johns Hopkins write in the current issue of The Journal of Clinical
Investigation that they may have found out why. It seems that arsenic inhibits telomerase
and that in turn creates genetic instability. Genetic instability is a bad thing if you're talking
about normal cells but a good thing if you're talking about cancer cells.
