But that's not having a position on the issue; that's deliberately
avoiding the issue. "Legal" means nothing but "approved by the
agents of the majority", so saying that you support legal immigration
is just saying that whatever the group decides on the issue is OK,
and you don't have any personal opinion.

I have a specific position on the issue: if you're here to work,
welcome. If you're a leech or a criminal, go find a welfare state
somewhere. Hopefully the US will dismantle enough of its entitlement
programs and drug price-supports that we will be unattractive to
leeches and criminals; when that happens, completely open borders will
be a good thing.
