I was remembering the Steven Spielberg movie "Empire of the Sun".
In the movie as the allies began to retake Japanese occupied China
they parachuted in relief supplies in cylinders about a foot across
and about 4 ' high.
These not only contained basic food stuffs, (canned milk and food)
but medical supplies and luxury goods like chocolate and
cigarettes.
Toss in one of the freeplay radios, and some appropriate language
instructions and these would be extremely valuble to the local
populace.
Have a few open automatically on contact to display their contents.
Don't forget the flag on the outside.
