I predicted this on this very list. The results of the genome just did not
jive with many previous estimates. It also did not make sense that humans
would have a genome smaller than other animals and more in size of a worm.
There is too much tendency in science today to throw out old data on the
basis of a single new experiment. Repeatability, peer review, and
verification of results are supposed to be part of the scientific method.
These scientists who announce results of a single unverified experiment are
not really practicing science.
