That's the trouble with approaching the singularity, everything gets better
and there's more of it for the same price.

But you don't wriggle away that easily, squire. The Lem cite is on p. 247
in the first edition.

(BTW, lest anyone suppose that I'm indulging in shameless self-promotion
here...[I can see you, Daniel] well, I am, I cannot tell a lie... but I'm
also hoping that people on this list might already have a copy of THE SPIKE
lying about the place, so often I'll provide a ref to something cited in
the book because it's easier than recapping the whole thing in email. Hope
that doesn't crottle too many people's greeps.)
