Why not?
You can't outgun them, locally.
You can -- possibly -- try a subversion, but what would the attacker to
gain? The stellar landscape is for grabs. Either it's a banquet on dumb
matter, or a takeover of a culture pretending to be dumb dirt (it can't,
unless it is extremely frugal).
Remote subversion by contact is of course different (via a viral message
that takes over the local resources), but the fitness gradient of
postsingularity critters must be brownian, so it's useless.
