You missed the important part of my post, there is required the element of
emotional
fulfillment as well, meaning close friends, loved ones, not just a sense of
comradery.
And no, I do not believe that the same thing can be achieved base simply on
science and technology.
Science and technology are the means by which we gain understanding of
ourselves and
the world to further allow us to develop our sense of purpose and meaning,
but ultimately
empty and meaningless if pursued as ends in themselves.
