...comes the interesting tidbit that scratches the itch I had:

"Xenon is effective and nontoxic for use as an anesthetic.
....
Mixtures of xenon and krypton are soluble in lipids which are present in
many soft tissues in the body, such as the brain."

So, maybe not toxic per se. But anesthetic under at least some circumstances.
