Well, remember, some people in industrialized countries still have yet
to use computers in the same sense that we use them every day. Indeed,
with a lot of what's out there now, only a few people are aware of true
capabilities; most people can, at best, hope that capability X is
commercially available and try to search for it. (Case in point: I've
been doing research on some traditionally high-budget areas, like
fusion and rocket science, and finding that a lot of the usual high
costs are mainly because the practitioners have had little incentive to
minimize costs, thus they have never tried. Of course, this is just a
personal anecdote...) I wonder if there is a better way to find out
about technology that other people have already developed.
