Well, I sent this to Spike first, but I meant it for the list
($#@$(##$! mailer programs...) I doubt spike will mind.

Gee spike, you gotta get out more -- you are *living* in the Bay,
SilcoVal, the place on earth with the highest concentration of
techno-nerds per sq km! You have the first techie movie released
by a name director in probably 2+ years openening and you are
surprised that you can't get tickets -- Give me a break -- Ever
hear of www.moviefone.com? You book your tickets *in* advance
over the internet (ever hear of that? you know the *INNNNTERRRNET*?).
You think these people are going to wait in line when the agents
on their Palm's or Notebooks or Cell Phones are making the
reservations for them?!?
Spike, really, if you are that far behind the times, I think you
should be talking to your manager about early retirement.
As a SERIOUS aside to everyone on the list, as much as we embrace
technological progress, our enfeebled human minds do *not* like
to adopt and adapt to it. As Ray pointed out at Extro5 and Damien
pointed out in the Spike the *big* jumps come at the later points
in the exponential growth of the singularity. If we do not *really*
force ourselves to be early and frequent adaptors we will find ourselves
being the sand up which the 2-ton blocks of the singularity pyramid
are being rolled!
Spike, you gotta stop rebuilding motorcycle engines and start
assisting the Canadians in moving forward the technological
arms race in hacking the DirecTV (www.directv.com) satellite
downlinks. Since GM owns Hughes which owns DirecTV which
is variously being bid on by EchoStar or Murdoch's News Corp.
I don't think you have any conflict-of-interests here.
Stop playing with the 20th century technologies and move
into the 21st century -- the survival of you (or your friends)
may depend upon it.
Robert
