Correction: I had heard that A.I. was originally dark and brooding, and
assumed this meant Kubrick had been dark and brooding about the AIs.
However, I have now been informed that Kubrick was actually very positive
about AIs - he thought that AIs were the next step in human evolution -
and that A.I. was originally dark and brooding about humans, not the AIs.
I therefore withdraw the above argument.
