        wow, interesting stuff. i recently interviewed at sri with peter
karp, who's doing related work in so-called ai (with lisp). check out
www.ecocyc.org. it's actually a bio-ontology of the metabolic pathways of
entire organisms. one could run experiments against it and get predicted
results. i think one could also give it actual results and let it
generate hypotheses to explain the difference from predicted results.
it's a pretty basic, production rules kinda system.

        www.genmapp.org (another place i interviewed) is a coloring /
drawing program for expression data -- it's really relatively trivial, but
bio researchers seem to find even this sorta thing useful.
