Let me add a remark regarding that JPL Press Release and other science
press releases, for those of you innocent of the process.
Those press releases are usually (originally) written by the
scientists themselves, therefore please take what you read with a
grain of salt. The words *might* be exaggeration or hype depending on
the concerns or personality of the person/people writing it. I usually
am extremely critical of those releases, and I tend to extract what I
think is the essence of the report, and I don't pay too much attention
to any "quotes" by the scientists in the report.
As a participater/object in one of those kind of scientific press
releases last year, I can say that it's a surreal experience to write
a press release about your own work as if you were interviewed by a
science reporter.
(Of course my own press release was perfect ;))
