Make that "McFlies"
"Nanoscale listening devices based on the Ormia ear are under development at
several industrial and university laboratories..." --Science Daily
If several labs can fly into development of nanoscale listening devices (based
on one "fly-sized" experiment
http://www.news.cornell.edu/releases/March01/fly_ear.hrs.html ), it makes me
wonder how many labs are trying to develop full-blown AI. Developing AI has
at least a thousand times more potential pay-off, so it seems reasonable to
speculate that a thousand times more effort goes in that direction.
