Jim wrote a very long but quite informative essay on Dr. Edelman's
work regarding 'consciousness'. Now for those of you familiar
with the work this seems to come very close to William Calvin's
theories of how the consciousness works (copying and Darwinian
selection of the strongest 'thoughts').
For our education/exploration the questions will be what are
the relation between Calvin's & Edelman's perspectives.
Are they different to any significant degree or largely
similar. Is Calvin building on Edelman, or is his perspective
independently derived?
