Interesting discussion. I'm going to use the ISS as part of the space
industrialisation scheme in my roleplaying campaign, so all this is
very useful to me.

I will likely have to bend things a bit to make it work; I guess it is
unlikely that it will still be up in the 2040's (solved by attaching a
ion enging kludge to maintain the orbit), and I wanted to have a
shuttle around but no serious space program, so I had to assume a
pork-barrel project resurrecting the VentureStar but just producing a
few for the government-owned Nasa Corporation.
