Yup. One can see this effect using one's own eye to look through a rifle
scope, too.
Also, it's possible to have a configuration in bright sun where light
reflects off of the side(s) some types of fiduciary marks/crosshairs, in
which case they will appear white or whiter-than-white instead of black.
