This probably has something to do with software engineering: I seem to
recall an extremely boring aspect of the study of programming langugages
being that a proper programming language possesses 3 properties:
generality, orthogonality, and *something else*. The weird thing about all
this was that all three of these properties were virtually indistinguishable
under most circumstances.
Anyhoo, this is a area of study where only the most pedantic and anally
retentive flourish. Best ye stay away from it!
